2017 Started Off with an awesome event for our local
Wichita Independent Business Association.
Our Annual Dinner was a focus on our members and I was so surprised to receive an “Oscar” for Best Live Action/Energizer Bunny Award! I was laughing so hard when I accepted it. Because they were talking about my always positive thinking and my big smile! At the time they snapped the picture they were saying – see that smile!!! Too fun – I have been a member for
10 years and on the Board of Directors for 2 1/2 of those years!
One Awesome Community is my way of highlighting the importance of staying in touch with your customers. Branding your business as a business that cares, building an AWESOME Community that will reward you with referrals and new business. I am a Relationship Marketing Connector with Send Out Cards. Here is just one of my highlights with this company that I’ve represented now for over 11 years.
I was at the very first convention and part of a great team that gave me an opportunity to meet and hang out with Kody Bateman, the founder and CEO. When they decided to do this first magazine Kody handpicked the reps. You can imagine my unbelievable excitement when I got a call telling me I had been chosen! And I had to keep it a secret for 2 months because it was being debuted at our convention! This was in 2008 and so much has changed for me, but I’m still sharing sending a smile and gratitude in a card. (I could only share photos, because it was a print publication…nothing online.)
(Side note – I wore red for 4 years – and a friend branded me the Hey Card Lady. I got tired of the red and now wear
all colors – but I’m still asked, locally, where’s your red 🙂 P.S. My article in the magazine features my hubby and me and I titled it –
Hooked on Laughter and Love.)
My background includes selling advertising for several publications, being an editor for one and creating a business magazine, still being published in upstate New York after 25 years. But this fun online project pictured below, though short lived, connected me to some of the most awesome women entrepreneurs that continue to enrich my life today.
