So Who’s Gail Foley? Great Question…
is an entrepreneur, business consultant, personal development trainer, author speaker and a podcast talk show host and connector. Locally people says she knows everybody! Not yet, but she’s working on it 🙂 She shares her own true story of transformation in “Stop The Ride! Taming The Emotional Roller Coaster” published in the book: ‘A Journey Within: Self- Discovery for Women’ .
In her chapter she speaks from her own life changing personal experience and in sharing her story she first points out that embracing ‘positive’ thinking was not the beginning of Gail Foley’s persona. However, determined to change, she embarked on a journey of self-education and promising herself to be the best in sales…she conquered her negativity and is now known for her never flagging ‘enthusiasm’…her adventure continues with her podcast, but not before she gained many more experiences to share…
Thirty-two years ago, accepting a new job in advertising and getting no sales training, Gail taught herself how to sell by studying all the experts that were already success stories in the world of sales. Incorporating their known and proven practices into her own style Gail was dubbed by her employer as the “Golden Girl of Advertising“. She went on to create her own publications and has appeared on TV and radio in upstate New York. Her creation, Strictly Business, is still being published in upstate NY.
From there she went on to continue her success in sales in the time share business in Virginia, a huge adventure with many more stories. However, when her daughter’s family was transferred to Wichita, KS she left Williamsburg, Virginia to join them, twenty-three years ago.
In making that transition and finding no resorts to sell in Wichita, Gail returned to selling advertising until she decided to go on her own fourteen years ago to find other ways to help people grow their business, which in turn started her on yet another journey (she has many chapters and facets to who she is today) to find a bigger purpose.
This quest brought her into the ‘speaking’ arena, leading to her ongoing networking and collaboration with other like minded, entrepreneurial minded women. Shortly into this new chapter she was introduced to a network marketing company that aligned with everything she did. Send Out Cards became her passion and her success story as a Marketing Director. In this role, she branded herself by adopting the phrase that everyone called her the ‘Hey Card Lady’. Visit HeyCardLady.com
Today she celebrates 12 years of showing people how to embrace the power of gratitude and helping them understand that by sending a simple THANK YOU card you are THE Brand That Cares. It’s called Relationship Marketing!
Always involved in the networking world as a past president of BNI, former member of two Chambers, and local business groups, she quickly became sought after as a woman to connect with. Always with a referral in hand for someone and resources to share. Today she has her own Women’s Networking group, known as the Women Connectors, still going strong and into it’s 5th year.
In January of 2013, she embarked on learning how to market online, joining many of the Send Out Cards leaders in meeting people around the world and not just in her own backyard. This adventure of learning took her into the world of making videos to promote her greeting card business. But once she found out about podcasting she knew she’d found her groove! And still loves doing video, but embarking on more Face Book Live to promote her message.
UPDATE: July 12, 2017 – after surveying her listeners she has decided to open her podcast to all people. Not just niching to women entrepreneurs. The marketing theory is niche down and then go up. So now is that time. Her original show was open to everyone and she did loose quite a following when she did, so refreshing! But to know the beginning of my journey here is the story of how it all started!
Gail attended a seminar in San Francisco in 2014 that her ‘groove’ was truly defined. At this seminar for women entrepreneurs she was urged to find and establish her niche. That’s when she realized her true mission now was to expand on helping other women entrepreneurs. Thus, the One Awesome Community podcast and connecting platform has emerged. And still connected to California with a friendship forged and growing with Cynthia Bazin of SmartChic.me who created a membership group at the same time I started OAC. Together they continue to attract the most incredibly awesome entrepreneurial women.
And these very connections contribute to her list of guests appearing on her interview segments, along with weekly tips shows with Cynthia. See for yourself below, just some of these awesome women!!!
We actually connected in Las Vegas thanks to Cynthia’s Smart Chic Inner Circle Mastermind Meetup!
Beyond energizing, educating and connecting people on their success journey, Gail believes and enthusiastically engages in spreading an epidemic of ‘passing on a smile’!! It is highly contagious and it makes a huge difference because it has a great boomerang affect! She believes that if we hold hands and connect from one end of the world to another – we can and will turn our negative world around to embrace our positive energy. And that encompasses sharing your gifts along with your smiles.
And just a glimpse into her personal life, Gail is grateful to be a wife, mother, sister, aunt and a ‘Gma’ (grandma and a GGma – great grandma) and treasures her time with her family.
Gail grew up watching old movies with her Mother and continues to share that love with her kids and grandkids. She also loves fiction, especially by her friend Regan Black, who writes awesome Harlequin Mysteries. And as a Personal Development trainer keeps up to date on personal development books and training. Gail would rather be outdoors as much as possible, invigorating in Mother Nature, fishing, walks, biking… And any excuse will find her traveling and exploring new places and loves attending live events.
Gail enjoys volunteering and championing her favorite causes. As a member of Grand Power she is supporting families that embrace research for PKU, all part of being a Gma to a wonderful grandson who was diagnosed 2 weeks after birth. Today he is a thriving, healthy, handsome, brilliant young man of 23 planning on his wedding in June of 2018!
And as you listen to her shows, you’ll learn she loves to laugh. One of her favorite ways is to challenge her husband to several games of ping pong after dinner. Now the grand kids are getting into the game! Life is gooooooooooood!
